Quasi - one - dimensional spin - density - wave states in the presence of two commensurate potentials and an interchain misfit

چکیده
Spin density wave (SDW) states of a quasi-one-dimensional system with an incommensu-rate wave vector perpendicular to the chain have been studied in the presence of two kinds of commensurate potentials, which originate in a quarter-filled band and dimerization along the chain. In terms of a phase variable of the SDW order parameter, we treat classically the two-dimensional Hamiltonian, which includes both acoustic excitations with long wave length and a vortex excitation with short wave length. A phase diagram on the plane of temperature and chemical potential (where the latter corresponds to the deviation of the transverse wave vector from the commensurate one) exhibits a variety of states given by the commensurate SDW state without charge density, the commensurate SDW state with charge density, the incommensurate SDW state and the disordered state.

Triplet superconducting pairing and density-wave instabilities in organic conductors.
Using a renormalization group approach, we determine the phase diagram of an extended quasi-one-dimensional electron gas model that includes interchain hopping, nesting deviations, and both intrachain and interchain repulsive interactions. We find a close proximity of spin-density- and charge-density-wave phases and singlet d-wave and triplet f-wave superconducting phases. There is a striking c...
متن کاملSpin-density wave versus superconducting fluctuations for quasi-one-dimensional electrons in two chains of Tomonaga-Luttinger liquids.
We study possible states at low temperatures by applying the renormalization-group method to two chains of Tomonaga-Luttinger liquids with both repulsive intrachain interactions and interchain hopping. As the energy decreases below the hopping energy, three distinct regions I, III, and II appear successively depending on properties of fluctuations. The crossover from the spin-density wave (SDW)...
متن کاملCalculation of Quasi-one-dimensional Interacting Electron Gas Using the Hartree-Fock Method
In this paper, the Hartree-Fock method has been formulated to investigate some of the ground state properties of quasi-one-dimensional interacting electron gas in the presence of the magnetic field. The bare coulomb interaction between electrons has been assumed. For this system, we have also computed some of its thermodynamic and magnetic properties such as the energy, pressure, incompressibil...
متن کاملZero-field incommensurate spin-Peierls phase with interchain frustration in TiOCl.
We report on the magnetic, thermodynamic, and optical properties of the quasi-one-dimensional quantum antiferromagnets TiOCl and TiOBr, which have been discussed as spin-Peierls compounds. The observed deviations from canonical spin-Peierls behavior, e.g., the existence of two distinct phase transitions, have been attributed previously to strong orbital fluctuations. This can be ruled out by ou...
متن کاملAnisotropy and field-dependence of the spin-density-wave dynamics in the quasi one-dimensional conductor (TMTSF)2PF6
The anisotropic and non-linear transport properties of the quasi one-dimensional organic conductor (TMTSF)2PF6 have been studied by dc, radiofrequency, and microwave methods. Microwave experiments along all three axes reveal that collective transport, which is considered to be the fingerprint of the spin-density-wave condensate, also occurs in the perpendicular b′ direction. The pinned mode res...
